Do you remember that commercial from the 70’s, where a family of tourists throw trash from their car and the Wise old Indian, watching this scene, is shedding a tear for Mother Earth?  That commercial has stuck in my head since I was a little girl.  I always seem to think about it again, when I see these words by Chief Seattle. That was over 40 years ago, before earth activists such as Al Gore, Starhawk and Julia Butterfly Hill, among others; and yet for centuries Native Americans and ancient cultures have forewarned us of a time of doom, demise, loss, whatever you call it, if we didn’t take responsibility for ourselves and our Planet.

Well, it seems that the foreseen future is coming into being, and many of the 2012 prophecies from Nostradamus, the Mayans and others are coming true.

We live in such incredible times.  In my lifetime, we have had the technological advancements of computers, cell phones, television in cars, and people in space!  However, we are living in a time where our creative ingenuity is causing a consumption of natural resources for which Our Earth, and the atmosphere surrounding it, are paying the premium.  I often think of our children today, who may not experience nature as we did, because their time is spent inside with tv, electronic gadgets and video games.  They’re losing that connection to nature and, therefore, some important elements for growth and health.

Our planet has been in trouble for a very long time. So, some of us (such as the Blue-Rose life color) took the call and began recycling, setting up intentional communities and doing everything we could for the earth, as well as our own health. Others felt like maybe these Earth predictions wouldn’t happen during their lifetime and they weren’t concerned about the future, so they did nothing.  In our society, we lay much more emphasis on War, and the destruction and death that comes from it, rather than the environmental problems, that are facing us. This is our own doing.  The pollution of our skies and oceans plus the destruction of our forests have led to the extinction of many species of animals and plants; this upsets the balance of nature and in turn, our own fate.

The ancient Mayans, whose mathematics and astrology far surpassed other civilizations, created a calendar that ended in 2012.  They believed that we were birthed into what the Mayans called, the Fifth Sun.  During that time, Dec. 21, 2012, exactly at sunrise on the Winter Solstice, and for the first time in 26,000 years, the Sun conjoined the intersection of the Milky Way. The Earth herself, aligned to the center of the galaxy.  For many of the ancient people, the Milky Way was seen as the source of creation. What does this all mean to us here on Earth?

The Mayan calendar was a cyclical calendar; therefore, they saw that everything in history repeats itself. And, if that is so, perhaps history repeating itself might show our end looking a lot like the end of Mayan civilization – through environmental destruction.

So, will the world really end?  The Mayan calendar has been correct in every astrological account through history so far. There are some who read the signs literally, and live with this fear when they see and listen to the prophecies, falsely believing that the world would end in 2012.  The media does its best to fill us with this fear, as well, by producing blockbuster movies that glorify the worst possible scenario. The movie, 2012 came out in 2008 and made me so mad, because it portrayed just that… our world ending!  I can’t even believe I went to see it and support it! Yes, I was very curious.

Mayan and Native American elders say the world will not end, but will begin a time of great transformation where we will all move to a higher vibration. They say, this alignment will herald in a “New cosmic energy that flows upon the Earth, cleansing it”.  I believe throughout this next year we are going to continue this transformation and transition into the next age of the Indigo life color.

Aren’t we already experiencing a cleansing of sorts? Within our own lives, spiritually, physically and literally, we are going through the toughest times.  Life is forcing us to struggle, grow and change.   People are literally going through many different separations: from jobs and family, divorces, sudden losses of loved ones, and tragedies of all kinds.  Many of us are feeling disconnected from our initial life dreams due to economic setbacks, and wondering how to get them back.  Our outside world is besieged with floods and tornadoes, great tsunamis, earthquakes and fires; death and destruction are being felt everywhere on the Earth and by the masses.

The Native Americans say that the prophecy is already happening and that the shift is already upon us.  They say, the world won’t end on the Winter Solstice of 2012, but this will bring in a beginning of a New Consciousness.  I have felt it beginning, have you?  The ancients spoke of a new era, ruled by the element of Ether – the world of the Fifth Sun.  They talk about a world where people will once again live in harmony with Mother Earth… sounds like the age of the Indigo life color to me!

Most of us who work in the field of Energy Medicine (which includes many sacred modalities of healing work, channeling, yoga, meditation, tai chi, etc.) know that we live in a world of energy. If the ancients said that we would move into a new realm of this element of Ether – in the Fifth Sun, well then, isn’t this the world where energy lives?

We, who stand in our Energy Medicine family can work as stewards for others, teaching and helping them sense that energy lives in everything, and through everyone; in this, they can shift the energies to bring us all into balance.

Native Americans knew this, too. They knew that everything is alive, from the plants and the rocks to the mountains and rivers of the Earth. Through Energy Medicine, we know how to take back our power and shift vibrations of negative energy and energy blocks so that we can step into greater, healthier lives and meet this New World ahead.

In our own lives, we are experiencing the worst of human tragedies… too many personal deaths and family disasters, severe illness, economic dysfunction, etc. have been occurring for the last decade.  So many of us are in severe turmoil and I’ve never known so many people who have experienced the sudden loss of family and friends at such an alarming rate. It makes me question, “Why?”

I wonder if some of us were not meant to live into the future times ahead, maybe to preserve that special time we had on Earth.  So many of the deaths in the last few years, have been so sudden that it freezes us in our tracks and makes us question our very own existence. Why did they have to leave us? Why are we chosen to continue without our loved ones, here on Earth? I see so many folks dying, who were of the old school and old beliefs, the ones who were beautifully old-fashioned in their own right, but couldn’t “bend” their minds to a different truth; they couldn’t change their perspective from what they were told or taught.

It is sad that so many of our loved ones are not chosen to go on, but I prefer to think that perhaps they are working on a different level, maybe in ways that they couldn’t help us here on Earth.  Are they chosen to cross over for other reasons?

Are they working for the Earth and with us (from the other side) and helping us in this transition to a better humanity?  I have no real clue, but I keep feeling this balance, that both worlds are working together on these worldly issues.   Is it that why we need our loved ones on the other side, to keep the balance for us here on Earth?  Many of us have angels, our own relatives, who have made their transition, and now guide us through our tragedies in life.  My father, Ray Dahlin, is a special one for me.

While diving into my Life Color research for the last 8 years, I began thinking of the amazing cataclysmic activities happening in the world and how they relate to the Violet Age that we are living in now.

Life colors are a specific chosen color that emanates from your energy field when you are born and it stays with you all your life. The colors that you choose before birth teach you about your strengths and necessary lessons in this lifetime. You usually have one or two colors and then maybe there are different colors emanating out from your Auric Fields at different times of your life, depending on traumas and life circumstances. Mother Earth has her own energy field; however, both my Mother and I intuitively sense that the colors come into history chronologically when the planet needs to bring those lessons to mankind.  If you are studying Eden Energy Medicine or Nancy Tappe’s ground breaking work on the life colors; you know that we are in the Violet Age right now.

In my intuitive research of Life Colors, I feel that there is a lot to learn in the Violet Age.  My Mother handed down this HUGE task to me. She sensed that my intuition was kicking in and it was my time to embrace this. It is very interesting how intuition works; it’s different for everyone. I sense the life colors by feeling, hearing, smelling and recently, through sight (that I have regained again, since my childhood).   This latest sense has come through unexpectedly from 2 near-death experiences in the last 3 years. I don’t know if it’s a blessing or a curse – the Universe thinks I should have this one again.

The Violets brought us into this new age because they were the ones that merged the Eastern spirituality to Western thought. Even though this is the age where Metaphysics and Science have come together, the Indigos will likely transcend this thought even further in the future when the planet brings in a new energy of Indigo in 2014.

The Violets are visionaries and can see what is needed for a better future. They made the world believe in that which we cannot see, mainly energy, and backed it up with Science.  In the language of life colors, Violet is about being on a spiritual path, and since we are in this age, the human race is also experiencing spiritual awareness on an ever-expanding level.  This was the age when of seeking our own spiritual paths.  It seemed like everyone was going to self-help workshops through the Violet Age.

There are more Violets and Blues than any other life color right now and I believe it is just this balance that we need for the planet’s own balance. To me, it represents the Matriarch and the Patriarch in complete balance. If the Violets and Blues would actually work together in this way, this would be my ideal balanced world.  About 8 years ago, I was a keynote speaker at a conference in Ireland where I spoke about this Divine Female/Male Balance that I felt would come more into the world.  I believe the Indigo Age and life color individuals will take this further; where there is not a matriarchal or patriarchal society, but one of equality and balance.
Blues want everybody to happy and they lead with heart and feeling.  The Blue Age culminated in the 50’s with the “Stay-at-Home-Betty Crocker-Loving Mom” and then continued in the 60’s and 70’s when they were the representatives of the “Peace-Loving Flower Children” who wanted love rather than war. Earth activism and consciousness began through both Violets and Blues (in their different ways) and those seeds are still continuing in sustainable and intentional communities all over the World.  Interestingly, another color arose from an older time that mixed with the Blue’s loving intentions and the old-fashioned preserved traditions of the past, The Rosy-Blue life color.  They are the “Earth Activism-Pioneers” who started a lot of incredible organizations, such as Greenpeace and the Peace Corp. who put their heart into action to preserve our natural environments.

After the Violet Age comes the Indigo Age in 2014. We are in the transition now and have been feeling these shifts that always occur when times change.  The Indigos have been trickling in over the last 50 years, although the earliest of Indigos were frequently misunderstood.  In the last 30 years, there was a large amount of Indigos born, but that has lessened.  The energy of an Indigo doesn’t understand war, hate or injustice of other human beings. Today, Indigos are playing a huge role in bringing about new thought, raising the vibration of and bringing harmony to the planet as well as bringing the age of Technology into a greater place.  Mankind has a lot to look forward to in the upcoming years.

There is an emerging new life color coming forth in some younger children, within the last 8 years or so. My Mother calls these new children, the Opalescents, because she “sees” pastel colors of all shades around them. In the 70’s, Nancy Tappe was the first to name these children, who she saw coming in since the 40’s, Crystals.  I believe they have been sprinkling in throughout history.  Doreen Virtue and James Twyman call these new children, Crystals, but they are talking about the same shades of color.  Because of Tappe’s earlier chosen name, my Mother and I like to have this distinction between the two names.

My Mother and I do not know yet if this will be the future, and next life color that will circle the planet, it’s too early to tell. Through my research I believe that each life color comes through individuals on earth, before their time, to prepare society for the next age. I call them ‘Scout Life Colors’. The Opalescents are born with a natural tendency to be drawn to those most in need, who are struggling with their own dark places, with unconditional joy and love. I believe their calling is to show us how to give selfless love. They are incredible beings and I feel that the planet has been in need of them for a very long time. They will bring about more love and healing.

We are living in the most important era of the Mayan calendars. All the prophecies of the world, all the traditions, are converging now. There is no time for games. So, the Violet Age… First, the whole planet is going through the Violet Age, but we are going through the violet life color lesson through our own life color’s lessons. The Violets will have it the hardest. The biggest, and hardest, lesson for Violets is to let go of control. They so love to control how their world works and then influence other life colors. Those Violets who are not learning their lessons, are feeling “Inner Earthquakes” in their lives right now.  If they don’t evolve on their own, it will be a lot harder to get their lessons from the Universe… which usually ends up in sickness or everything breaking down in their lives.  The same places which they are trying to control.

Yes, the Violets are having some tough times, but so are we all. These lessons are also our lessons. Wherever you find that you want to control your world… relationships, career, family, etc. is where you will be challenged, through your own life color’s lessons. We have to let go of the old ways of thinking, and how we used to live or we just might not make it.  Joseph Campbell said, “ We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”  Are you ready to let go and let Spirit give to you that which may be more beneficial to your growth and success?

It feels like Mother Earth herself, is getting so mad and frustrated that she is erupting with “physical earthquakes”, floods, hurricanes, causing all these environmental disasters in order to wake us up and change. Are you listening to these harsh lessons? I feel that Mother Earth is showing us the way. There is nothing you can do when a natural disaster comes.  You just gotta’ let go and see what Mother Nature left you in order to put the pieces of your life back together again. Welcome to the Violet Age!!

Surrender is the key to our times now. Surrender is to acknowledge that there’s a deeper reality that we cannot see, but sometimes we fight and control to keep our world the same. We cannot see where life is leading us. We need to recognize that being in control of our lives may have caused us more pain and struggling, than if we’d let go to receive the beautiful riches that are available to you. So, why not surrender and begin to see what the Spirit has in store for you?

We are in a time of transition. We do not know what will happen, as there are so many fluctuating events.   To “Let Go” and ride the conscious tsunami might be what our lives and the Earth is telling us to do right now.  When transitions happen, there is usually much change that hasn’t stabilized itself yet and so, this is when chaos appears.  But what are we to do in the meantime, in order to help ourselves through the changing and challenging shifts?

There is one Life Color that helps transitions take place and I believe that it has always been here in Earth’s history, in times of evolutionary change. The life color that I’m referring to is Purple.  Purples can help other people transition and shift in their lives. They bring us grounding and stability within the chaos.  I love having aPurple life color individual around whenever healing needs to take place. If I need someone to listen to my woes and soak up my tears, then I turn to a Purple friend as my savior. If you find yourself in personal disarray, during these Purple times, these are the things you can do:

• In meditation, imagine that the Earth (or your world) is protected with a cloak of Purple.
• Send Purple energy to people and places that need it.
• Bring the color Purple into your world, by wearing it or placing it on your altar, to ground you during heavy shifts.
• Paint Purple on a wall in your office.
• Surround yourself with your Purple friends, for they will bring you clarity within your own mental confusion.

The predictions of 2012 have been culminating in our media and social network for some time now. The real disasters that are occurring simultaneously in our own world backyard only feed this doom and gloom and fear about the future.In the early 2000’s, Michael Moore woke us up to the idea that our society and the media put so much fear into our everyday reality. Fear begets fear and makes it bigger.    In March of last year, I was teaching at a belly dance conference in San Francisco Bay. At 11:00 at night, I watched the news and found out that the recent Japan Tsunami was headed our way. The fear that was amplified by the media was so great, that we thought we better schedule a wake-up call, just in case we’d have to evacuate.  It never came, but that night we could hardly sleep thinking, “What if?”  Every few hours, I’d look out to the parking lot to see if the cars were floating away.  Yes, that is what fear can do and our own media does this to us all the time.

I remember back in the 80’s when California was going to drop off into the ocean. Many of my friends scheduled parties to lose their virginity… talk about Radiant Circuits flowing! (Radiant circuits are positive energetic pathways that spark joy throughout your body). In states of despair, you can turn on radiant circuits by doing Energy Medicine Exercises. This is a much  better idea to implement than just living in fear.

cutting down trees or digging the minerals out of the Earth. The Earth has been torn apart.

So, what can we do while the shift occurs through our own lives? Christine R. Page M.D, in her book, 2012 and the Galactic Center, talks about keeping this balance of joy when there is so much fear in our universe.  Will you choose to spiral helplessly into depression and despair or will you stop and ask yourself, “What do I want instead of this emotion?”  We all want to experience more joy in our lives, but it has to start with us changing our own energy.

A friend of mine gave me a bumper sticker that reads, Love > Fear.  Why don’t we choose to live in Love and not wallow in despair and fear of what could come in 2012. Isn’t it more beneficial for people to look at the positive sides of change rather than speculate on an unforeseen scenario?

I can’t help but think that we need more Radiant Circuits going to the Earth’s Grid right now, as She too, needs mending from historical turmoil throughout the centuries. Like human beings who have life colors and an energy grid, the Earth also has similar energy fields. The Grid is like the structure of an energetic spider’s web, that can be frayed by experiences of trauma.  When fear is expressed throughout the World, this energy spreads throughout the Earth’s grid, too. When the majority of the world begins to emanate more joy and love into our lives, the Earth’s grid will also begin to resonate with this same reality. It is interesting to note that research shows that the song of the Whales and dolphins has been changing with the transforming times in order to keep the Earth’s grid balanced. What a beautiful picture!

The ancients talked about a time when the world would come together as a great Cosmic Family, working together for the Earth and for Peace. I believe that time is coming with the re-birth of 2012 into the Indigo Age when it will be fully aligned in 2014. There have been beautiful examples of communities coming together, helping one another in these times of social disasters, most recently seen with the tornadoes that happened in our own states. During the great Japanese tsunami, amazingly, no one looted the local stores but instead fed and clothed each other.  On Sept. 11, with the falling of the twin towers, humanity showed great compassion and camaraderie in an extreme time of sorrow, fear and need. Maybe the shifts in our Earth’s atmosphere are helping us step into a higher life color lesson, like the new age  of Indigo or Opalescent energy, with their pure unconditional love.

Which brings me back to the commercial of the crying Indian. The Earth is still crying, like she was crying then. We need to awaken our consciousness and shift our energies so that we may continue to “see” the New World ahead. I’m excited, are you?  We shift the Earth, when we face our darkest challenges and shift ourselves. “Let’s raise the vibration of our planet. It all begins with you.”

A Soul Catching Experience

At every workshop, almost everyone yearns to “see” the energies, the colors and the shapes that Donna Eden sees through our own eyes. It seems like the ultimate highest intuitive sense, doesn’t it? Well, don’t be too hurried for those things that you might not be prepared for…and here is why. Let me tell you of my own unexpected experience that happened to me, when I first came into the work.

As Donna Eden’s daughter, I am one of those sensitive individuals that can walk into a room and get zapped by everyone’s energy. I have always had difficulty holding hands in a healing circle or being inundated with people who want to hug me. I find it hard to go to historical landmarks where war, plagues, injustices etc. had taken place through time. My sister, Dondi and her partner, Roger are former tour guides and historical buffs and are always booking us to stay at the oldest and most unique places during our travels. And even though I do everything that my Mother has taught me to protect myself, it is still hard for me to do energy work on anyone without feeling drained or receiving some of their “stuff” after their healing. It takes me a long time to “shake it off” and recover.

Even though I grew up with the work and am a third-generation healer and intuitive, graduated as a student in the Eden Energy Medicine Certification Program(2008), I still felt that I did not learn how to protect and ground myself enough. It became all too clear with the experience that followed.

On a side note: We have made changes to the certification program with specialized attention toward protecting and grounding yourself when healing. This is all due to my “guinea pig” experience.

Early on when I was asked to be on faculty at the Certification Program, I was chosen to take the role of Soul Catcher, as one of my many roles. A Soul Catcher’s job is to observe the energy shifts in the classrooms and if the energies shift toward emergency situations catch those sensitive students that may spin out and balance them to adjust. Spinning out can represent anything from headaches to nausea to intense breakdowns. You, as a soul catcher are the energy rescue angel and you help anyone in need.

All my life, I never wanted to be in this field of work. Why? From an early age, I saw my mother ”laid up” in bed after many private sessions, as she’d talk on the phone with her clients that were now walking and feeling better for the first time in many years. Of course she was so happy for them that she could not tell them that she now couldn’t walk and was talking to them while lying down in bed. I’d hear stories about clients with entities that would jump into my mother’s body and séances that had to be performed to get rid of them. Strange experiences were common in our household and I have many weird stories. I have always been fascinated by the Occult and had the ability to see, feel, hear, and even smell the nuances from the world unseen. I even talked with the elemental beings from an early age. I saw colors (auras) around people until the first day of preschool. (That’s another story!) And so, I never thought twice about this “other world” that was more natural and normal to me. That was my childhood.

Over the years, my mother learned how to protect her own energy, because she had a “booming business” to fulfill. She found her own ways of protection and grounding the energy that came off of clients. The generic “white light shields that everyone may rely upon, were just not cutting it! She then began to teach others who wanted to learn this work…and it all started with Sandy Wand, her first student, with one-on-one teachings. Classes followed and then classes grew into workshops and workshops grew into a book and then into the Certification Program in both the United States and the U.K.

So here I was many years later, finding myself on the faculty of her schools. I was going to take my job serious and so I dove right in! Back to the story: I was the only soul catcher for the two large classes at C.P.(certification program) of 300 students in that year. I did my job and rescued/healed many in need, but at the same time I did not realize that I was losing myself in the process. Sometimes, I had as many as three to five people at a time who I was trying to help, and many of them were all very sensitive souls, like me. These were the ones who could pick up any vibration, any shift of energy, anyone’s mood, electromagnetic in the room, environmental stress, etc. I knew these sensitivities all too well. Later, many of these unique individuals came onto the faculty for they were the ones who make the best healers themselves, for they could feel the “energy between the spaces”.

When the class was over, I left the C.P early and rushed immediately into a series of other jobs, which took me to Northern California and England. It was so rushed; I only had less than twenty-four hours at home to pack up to teach that year at the Tribal Belly dance Festival in Sebastopol, California.

When I got home, something did not seem right in my energies, but I chalked it up to exhaustion and emotional stress. Even, my partner, Jeff, told me that I looked more drained than he’d ever seen. My skin was pasty, dull and lifeless. …of course nothing that a little makeup could not cover! I was also experiencing really bad mood swings, and Jeff was at a loss as to how to help. I didn’t even know what to do for myself! Jeff, my partner got yelled at unjustly for more than a few times. Slowly, I was beginning to see that this wasn’t your average fatigue stress, yet I could not focus on what was “out of sorts” within myself. I had no time to think about it…did my daily routine and was “off” to Sebastopol.

In the days that followed, it seemed like I was in another space and time. I felt like I was getting the flu. I could not focus. I was tripping over my own feet; being clumsy and bumping into things. I even fell a few times, a far cry from my usual graceful personality. Well, there was no grace in this dancer whatsoever! I also felt like I was on a real short swing, rocking to and fro, very fast and it wouldn’t stop. I had relapsed into my childhood dyslexia and dyscalculia (difficulty with mathematical and number calculations), more than I’d ever have before in my life. I got seasonal allergies, for the first time in my life, too…coughing, sneezing and runny noses which weren’t considered very beautiful for a belly dancer ready to teach and perform. A weird thing happened with my perception too. I would reach for a glass on the table only to find it was inches away to the right or left of my grasp. I felt unstable, uncoordinated and dropped things continuously. I had a foggy brain and would forget where I left something. Yet, I was incredibly attuned to everything around me …good and bad. I also had a high sensitivity to anything technological- TV’s, radio, computer, even the refrigerator! I couldn’t stand being in the same room when they were on and I love the radio (music is my life). I couldn’t go near the computer for at least a couple of months after this experience even, so of course my life backed up with emails just sitting there not opened.

On the positive side during this time, I was highly intuitive and then just while I was reveling in it… all of a sudden to my surprise, I was “seeing” in between the worlds! That was intense! I would sit still and watch beings of all sizes and even pets walk by, as if I was “sidewalk watching”, but it wasn’t in this materialistic world. They were see-through and made of light shadows.
This was very freaky! I felt like Alice down the Rabbit Hole.
“Who are you?!!” Said the hookah smoking Caterpillar. “Well, I know who I was this morning, but I’ve gone through several incarnations since then.” Alice said to the Caterpillar.

“WHAT THE BLEEP WAS HAPPENING TO ME!!!????”

While in Northern California at the Festival, I taught my belly dance classes and luckily, I could wear a mask to hide the fact that I was completely “out of it”. No one knew how ungrounded and unstable I really was. I was clearly not myself; I was literally a shell of myself. But, the show must go on, right?! My class was packed and my dance performance came off without a hitch. Thank the Goddess!!!

In two days, I would be leaving for England. I called up my Mom and told her of what I was experiencing. She knew all to well what was going on and realized that my own symptoms mimicked her early days in her own learning challenges of her healing career. She did not want me to take the endlessly long flight to England or even be in an airplane. She wanted to come and meet me ASAP and get “this thing” fixed. Since I was in Northern California that wasn’t feasible but about an hour away, one of our top Energy Medicine Practitioners, Beverly Davies, lived. She said that if I could get myself to Beverly, she could fix me up until my Mom could see me when I got back from the U.K. My mom agreed, but wasn’t too pleased.

I knew I shouldn’t have even been driving with my impaired vision and ungrounded feeling as the ride to Beverly’s in Napa was shaky in the car. I needed a lot of help, so I made sure I was extra careful on the road which was very hard to do under the circumstances. Beverly, although I didn’t know it at the time, was the perfect E.M practitioner to help me. One of Beverly’s specialties is “Psychic Self Defense” and she has created a whole protocol in it. She helped me get grounded with some of her amazing techniques and then bandaged me up in order to get on that plane a few days later.

I flew to London, thinking that everything was all fine. I danced and had a workshop at the Body, Mind, Spirit festival, both in Middle Eastern dance and Energy Medicine. What I didn’t know and what my Mom realized later was, THAT I DIDN’T HAVE AN AURA! I never knew such a thing was possible. If one doesn’t have an aura, then ANYTHING could get into our energy field and affect our physical body. And yes, it did! I went to London and all the dark forces of that the city, from the present to its far distant past history came into my field. I was not protected in the least, but I didn’t know this.

Now, the Body, Mind Spirit Festival is like a “Metaphysical Mecca” and attracts all sorts of characters. That was intense in itself with forlorn needy people wanting my attention in many ways, especially because I was teaching Energy Medicine as well. Then, with London’s history of bloodshed and plagues and deceptive government history; I was picking up everything! I also found myself invited to dance at a pagan event, which had strange individuals hanging around that clung to me and were hard to shake off.

Every night I was taking the Underground, an hour to my friend’s home. Subways, buses and public transportation always has thrown me “off” in the past, so here I was passing through the dark underground streets of London, without protection, in a speeding steel machine full of people of every size, color, and some of the weirdest characters you’ve ever seen.

I had a few encounters on the underground, which weren’t very pleasant and found myself being chased and verbally abused from some weirdo and hid myself in a crowd to escape. When I walked from the underground in the dark to my friend’s house, I couldn’t stay protected, no matter what or how brave I acted…I felt like I something or someone could just trickle past this ‘courageous front’ that I was trying to uphold.

After the festival, I needed to get away from London. “I got it,” I thought…”I’ll go out to Cornwall, the country I love so much!” This has always been one of my favorite places in England. Well, instead of being at one with the land and the elemental beings, I was a stone and couldn’t follow a map or my own instincts of where to go. I have amazing sense of direction and intuition with the land, in other words, I have a lot of magnetite! (My mother tells a story when I was a baby and got her out of a city when she was lost. I couldn’t talk, but just pointed the way while she was crying and driving.) So with everything else, I ended up crashing the rental car. I guess that I still hadn’t gotten my perception back while driving.

I finally got home to good old America! I was so happy to be home. Mom rushed up to my home in Big Bear Lake and spent the next 5 days fixing and getting me back to my own self. She also used it as a great way to get “tuned in” for her advanced class coming up. A few things came to light of why I was having such weird experiences. It was only then that Mom found out that I had lost my aura. What a concept! Because of this, I also used up and burnt out my adrenals and so everything was coming into my field. I was exhausted, depleted and now my back was beginning to hurt a lot (due to adrenal exhaustion). I began to have seasonal allergies, another thing that can happen when you lose your aura. I was always so proud that I never had allergies my whole life and now here I was sneezing, with a runny nose…the works! Everything was locked up and holding onto everything that had happened since the C.P. where I was taking care of so many individuals without taking care of my own self-care. I was a mess and could not release anything!

These are some of the things that Mom did with me. These techniques are what she teaches and covers in her books (Energy Medicine and Energy Medicine for Women). My grounding to the Earth was very off, which made my balance and coordination falter, so my Mom did “The Suckability Technique” everyday, she spooned my feet, held K-1and stomach sedating. We did Large Intestine sedating to release all the built up stuck energy that had come into my field. We also did “Homolateral/CrossCrawl Re-patterning” for the terrible dyslexia and foggy thinking I was having, and “Triple Warmer/Spleen Balancing”, Kidney sedating to get my adrenals back, and “The Crystal Aura Builder” to strengthen my aura again. Crystal Aura Building is where you take a crystal (a bigger crystal is better in this case) and begin to strengthen your aura by spinning it around you. You begin close to your skin and then slowly, push it out from there into your etheric field. I also began to do this, on my own, using my own hands and then pat it as if you were patting down sand at the beach, for strengthening.

Later, I shared this technique with one of my “Spin out people” (from C.P) as a solution to her own problem. She was “crystal sensitive” and my feeling is that she was part “Crystal life color”. Sometimes, Crystal life colors will feel great using crystals on themselves, but their clients can “spin out. Or on the other hand, they, themselves, can be too sensitive to that crystalline energy. They can’t even use the crystal themselves…It’s almost like they have an allergy to themselves. That’s tough! When the client “spins out”, it will be like being in a Crystal life color’s energy field, three times as powerful and everything that it brings (See, Donna Eden’s Life Colors C.D). Consulting my mother, I told her to use anything in her field that she feels good with…a flower, another stone, a piece of empowering jewelry, etc.

So, after all of this, I was finally put back together and actually felt stronger and healthier than ever. If this experience of mine has finally helped the certification program address and teach these issues of protection, centering and grounding, then I am happy…but, I clearly do not want to go through it again! Keep yourself protected and do your own self-care when you heal! It will help you in ways that you don’t even realize.

The World is moving in an alarming rate and we are all feeling the shifts happening in our own lives. (I know that I am feeling them full force. Are you?) The Universe is sending us surprising changes to our own comfortable existence, so that we must transform and grow in order to move forward. Things we’ve always counted on in our lives are falling apart…a divorce, a child dies, and you lose a job, so that we can get stronger and meet the challenges ahead. We cannot stay in the world we’ve known. The time is now. We need to be prepared and protected. Strengthen your own auric field to stay protected during the shifts.

Happy Fall Y’all!    October is one of my favorite months of the whole year!!!

…Maybe it’s the crispness in the air, still having nice warm days that transition easily from Summer time.

…Maybe it’s the beautiful fall colors of reds, oranges and yellows in the trees that we get up here in the San Bernardino Mountains.  I live up at 7,000 ft. and I love having four seasons in Southern California! And yes, we’ve already have had snow, just last week!

…Maybe it’s the mysterious spooky October nights that bring magic and wonder… Last year, I taught my nephew Tiernan about the traditions of Halloween – now he is so excited that it’s here again, with pumpkin decorations everywhere and falling leaves to play in, scary stories of ghosties and costumed fun. Tiernan has designated that he is dressing up as “Popeye the Sailor Man” and we will be his Gang.

…Maybe it’s because I love to play dress-up (everyday!) and appease my many different personalities…

A little history about Halloween

Halloween was originally called the festival of Samhain (pronounced SAH-win), which means “Summer’s End”.  Samhain was the New Year in the ancient traditional ways. It holds the energies of the “Veils between the Worlds”, meaning that the doorway between this world we live in, and the invisible world of our ancestors, is thin.  There is a mystery in the air at this time of the year. We tell scary ghost stories and strange encounters of Fairy Queens who would steal away human beings for their lovers, Wicked Witches who made strange concoctions and magical potions. Wearing costumes or masks were once thought to ward off the evil spirits or fairies by tricking them with disguises. That tradition is lost and we now don wild costumes and revel in joyous festivities, “trick or treating” from door to door for sweets.

At the beginning of time, people honored the cycles of the Earth and Nature and the changing times of the year. Festivals commemorated the dying time and celebrated our ancestors. This time of the year is about letting go of the old, like the vibrant colored leaves that are falling to the ground. The “harvest of the fields” is ripe for the picking.  As we move into the cold times and the dark of winter, we are preparing to retreat into a time of hibernation.

The symbol of the Witch was originally the faces of the Goddess… Maid, Mother and Crone. At this time of the year, Autumn, she was the Crone, the Wise One, and the Elder who knew about the mysteries and the cycles of life, death and rebirth.  Having experienced the journey of the Maid and the Mother through the year, she now carries her lessons within and transforms them into deeper wisdom. As time passed, people began to follow doctors and hospitals; they didn’t understand the “Old Ways” of “The Healer” or “Old Herb Lady”, who lived in the woods alone.  The Crone became feared and renamed “The Witch” and “The Hag” of Halloween today.

Day of the Dead

At Samhain, the veil between this world and the afterlife is at its thinnest point of the whole year, making it easier to communicate with those who have left this world.  It is a time when your ancestors can come close in spirit to the Earth and their loved ones.    Many cultures have ceremonies to honor their dead. The days after Halloween are considered the “Days of the Dead” and many people go out to cemeteries to have family picnics and honor their ancestors.

Shadows of a thousand years…
Rise again unseen.
Voices whisper in the Trees,
Tonight is Halloween.

Titanya’s Samhain Ceremony

This is one of the most magical connections to the other side of life, and a time to remember those who have passed before us… sending our love and gratitude to them.

In your own life, Halloween can be a renewal of dying to the old and a clearing of past energies to move forward into the next phase in our lives. In so doing, you keep in line with a harmony of nature, as we enter into the cycle of darkness for the upcoming year. It is a time to tie up old loose ends.  Light candles for yourself.  As the candles burn down, remember the year and see all you’ve accomplished. Visualize letting go of the things in your life that don’t fit anymore. Write out what you need to let go of while getting all your emotions out and then burn the writings.  Allow the candles to burn through the night, representing parts of the whole year, until they are melted, like the Wicked Witch of Oz, herself.

Make an ancestor altar: Decorate your table with Pomegranates (the food of the dead), Marigolds (flowers of the dead), a photo of your loved one, and something they liked – this could be anything from jewelry to chocolate to beer.  Find special colored candles to light for them, to help them find their way back home.  For you, the candles represent, remembering the light within the darkness as we go through the long winter months ahead.

Place the symbols of the 4 or 5 elements, on your altar… Water – a bowl of water or seashells; Wood – a Palo Santo stick or tree branches; Fire – a candle; Earth – soil, sand or fall foliage; Metal or Air – crystals or incense of some kind.

Set a place at the dinner table for your ancestors and talk of special stories and give thanks for what they brought into your life. You may want to uncover other relatives in your family tree, which you may not have even known existed, by asking living relatives or tracing your roots online.

Halloween has become an over-the-top display of materialism that has disconnected us from its true symbolic meanings. Although dressing up in zany costumes and “trick or treating” is fun, take time, connect with nature and the cycles of the year with your children and yourself. Make this Halloween meaningful, and teach them about their grandparents and loved ones who went before them to the other side. You can still bring back the “spooky”, but in our lives where the traditions are being quickly lost, it is a nice time to re-connect and remember where you’ve come from.
